Abstract

Aimol is one of the recognized tribe of Manipur. It was recognized in 29th October, 1956 vide notification no. 2477, under Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. It is the minority tribe of Manipur. The present population of Aimol according to churches record is 4900 (approxt). The Aimol tribe is found in Chandel, Churachandpur, Senapati and Tengnoupal, Chandel, Churachandpur and Senapati district of Manipur.
