Abstract

This study aims to contribute to the understanding of Arab female tourists' travel behavior by examining their travel motivations, constraints, negotiation strategies, and the influence of Islamic teachings on their destination choices for pleasure travel. The research methodology utilized a purposive sampling approach to gather data through a questionnaire survey administered to 178 Arab female tourists. The study identifies the key push and pull travel motivations, the main travel constraints that inhibit Arab female tourists from travelling overseas, and the most frequent travel negotiation strategies adopted to overcome these constraints. Furthermore, the findings indicate that Islamic teachings play a significant role in the choice of a pleasure travel destination for Arab female tourists. The current study provides information that will aid the destination and travel marketers in targeting the Arab female travel market to formulate effective marketing strategies and develop appropriate product plans. Finally, the managerial implications of the study’s results, study limitations, and possible future research directions, are discussed.
