A Study on Position of Law of Defamation in India

Abstract

Defamation law is one very important media law to protect the dignity of person and to make a genuine restriction on the freedom of speech and expression. However, the violation of this law has also become very common in India. Such Violation can be found in several areas of the life. There are some important questions in reference to this law. What are the natures of the violation of the law of defamation and how is it taken by media? This research paper tries to analyze the present status of defamation law in India.
